Assessment
Spring State Assessments
The annual spring assessments take place in late April and May in the Dieringer district, and provide a key measure to help education leaders, teachers, and parents improve student learning. Knowing which students are ready for career, college, and life, and knowing how well our schools are preparing all students, are important parts of Washington’s accountability system.
Each spring, students in grades 3-8 will take the Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) in math and English language arts (ELA). 5th and 8th graders will also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS).
Detailed testing schedules for each school and grade will be provided by your child’s school, and can also be viewed on the calendar on this page.
Individual student scores will be available in Skyward Family Access in late June for SBA assessments, and in the fall for WCAS. Paper score reports will go home in the fall.
